From Henley on Thames proceed to the central traffic lights and turn right into Bell Street. At the mini roundabout at Northfield End bear right onto the A4155 Marlow Road & continue along this road for approximately 2½ miles to Mill End. Turn left to Hambleden continue for 1.5 miles approx and bear right into Hambleden village. Go through the centre and turn left after the church towards Pheasants Hill/Frieth. Follow the road up the hill, bearing sharp right at the top into Parmoor Lane and up towards Rockwell End (approx 2 miles). Ignore the left hand turning into Colestrope Lane and Pheasants Cottage will be found immediately on the left just past the telephone box.

From Marlow proceed West from the obelisk at the top of the High Street along West Street towards Henley. Turn right at Platts garage into Oxford Road, continue into Chalkpit Lane, climb the hill passing through Bovingdon Green, and continue into Frieth Road. After about 3 miles turn left at the crossroads into Frieth Hill, passing the Church & village school on the left. Bear left at the top towards Rockwell End & Hambleden continue along passing the entrance for St Katherines on the right and Pheasants Cottage will be found on the right just before the right hand turning into Colstrope Lane.
