For rail commuters there are stations at nearby Cholsey or at Henley on Thames and Reading, the latter having fast intercity services up to London (Paddington) in 25 minutes.

The historic old market town of Wallingford on Thames granted a charter by Henry II in 1155, lies just to the west offering an exceptionally wide variety of shops and facilities, including a Waitrose supermarket, eateries, and cinema to name but a few.

In addition to superb local state schools, locally the area is also extremely well served by an excellent range of private schooling, of particular note; The Oratory, Pangbourne College, Cranford House, The Manor, Moulsford Preparatory, Abingdon Boys and The School of St Helen & Katharine.

The Thatched Cottage is a rarely available detached Grade II listed cottage dating from the 16th Century, situated in highly sought after riverside grounds of approximately 2.4 acres. Under the current ownership the cottage has been rewired and had a brand new thatch in 2016. With accommodation all on the ground floor and a wealth of character throughout, the cottage boasts a cosy sitting room with log burning stove, Kitchen with stable door, two Bedrooms and a family Bathroom. Planning permission has previously been granted for the addition of a 3rd Bedroom.

The property is approached over a private Farmyard. Timber double gates open onto a gravelled forecourt providing off road parking for numerous cars, with large wood shed off to one side. The ground slopes down to a further forecourt, where the Cottage sits to the left, and to the right are 2 Loose Boxes, a Tack Room & Shed. Further gated vehicular access is afforded for the stables & meadow. Leading directly off the Cottage itself is a lawned garden, with low picket fenced border. A timber bridge leads from the garden over a stream, and into a grazing meadow of over 1 ¾ Acres, leading down to the river. The meadow has 250' of riverside frontage and mooring rights.
