Northend is a popular, small and pretty village, tucked away high in the Chiltern Hills, between the towns of Henley and Watlington in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The hamlet is surrounded by beautiful wooded and open countryside. Local shops and amenities are available in Watlington, about 3 miles away. Henley-on-Thames and Marlow are also nearby - both popular and thriving market towns, they have a wider range of shops and amenities. More comprehensive shopping can be found in High Wycombe and Oxford whilst central London is easily accessible by road or rail, with stations at High Wycombe, Princes Risborough and Henley on Thames.
Directions
From Junction 5 of the M40 exit the motorway and go down the A40 in a north westerly direction (towards Lewknor) after about half a mile turn left on to the Christmas Common Road. Proceed over the M40 cutting and along the Chiltern escarpment as far as Christmas Common (about 3 miles). At Christmas Common, shortly before the Fox & Hounds public house turn left towards Northend. Keep on the lane into the village and round to the right past the pond. Proceed over the Common and at the far side turn right up a narrow lane passing the Village Hall on the left.
